RESEARCH
OBJECTIVES
• Strengthen the bond with the villagers
• To increase the villagers understanding of the 5 Islamic pillars especially syahadah and solat
• To introduce IIUM involvement in servicing the community
ACTION TAKEN
• Multiple activities involved in the programme enhanced the bond with the villagers especially ‘Sukan Rakyat’, ‘Ziarah’, Cultural Night, Medical Check Up and food
• The 5 Islamic Pillars were addressed during the visits, usrah and helwani
• IIUM involvement in community service was promoted by using IIUM bus, banner and participants’ self-introduction to the villagers
MODULES
• The modules are flexible with target group and allowed the participants to refresh the villagers’ memories and understanding on syahadah and solat. The elders showed interest in the matter by asking questions and participating in discussion with the participants.
• However, efficient delivering techniques in term of softer approach with the villagers have to be developed.
• Module with the children of Kg Leryar was suitable. But, during “School Attack”, the objectives in promoting the importance of education to the children was not reach.
OVERALL
• This programme is a form of training to the facilitators on dealing with target group and problems that arose.
• The module is flexible and able to tackle the objectives of the programme.
• OAMP 3 has shown improvement from OAMP 2.
• Khatam al-Quran during the programme is a wonderful and interesting activity.
• Adapting to the environment and accepting the villagers are very important thus it required patience and soft approach
• Involvement of senior facilitator and junior facilitator in the programme enable better future planning of the programme
